“Flying Rivers” is a series of short films inspired by the natural phenomenon of the Flying River, which plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and biodiversity. I have created 4 unique characters adorned in handcrafted costumes inspired by distinct elements found in the Amazon Rainforest. By combining the carnivalesque, the films tell the story of the legend that is the Flying River and explores the boundaries in which reality and surrealism meet. Flying Rivers is a tribute to the amazon and its never-ending beauty.

Description: Arara Roja is the Scarlet Macaw battling for survival in the rainforest. Mariposa is the butterflies that group together and resist, they represent freedom and liberation. Piel de Orquidea is the flowers that continue to blossom in every inch of the Amazon creating life in a place that faces destruction. Entre Aguas is the in-between of the Amazon Rivers, they are the jewels of nature that adorn the land.
